Signing a waiver

What waivers are, when you'll see one, and what happens when you accept.

Some events require you to agree to a waiver before you can complete your purchase. House shows, physical activities, and private-residence events are the most common.

When you'll see one

If the organiser attached a waiver, it appears in checkout, before the payment step. You'll see:

  • The waiver text in a scrollable box
  • A checkbox: I have read and agree
  • The Pay button stays disabled until you check the box

What you're agreeing to

The exact text you see is the version you're agreeing to. If the organiser updates the waiver later, it only applies to future purchases — yours is locked to what you read.

Ithas Fire provides three starter waiver templates organisers can use:

  • General event — basic attendance terms
  • Live music / physical activity — adds acknowledgement of physical risks
  • Private residence — for house shows and in-home events

Organisers can also write their own.

What happens after you accept

When payment succeeds, your acceptance is recorded with:

  • The exact waiver text version
  • A timestamp
  • The IP address your purchase came from

You'll see a note in the order confirmation that a waiver was accepted. The acceptance record is available to the organiser — they may check it at the door for age-restricted or liability-sensitive events.

Can I refund after signing?

Yes, the normal refund rules still apply. Accepting a waiver doesn't change whether you're eligible — it just documents that you agreed to the event's terms at purchase time.
