Notification settings
Choose which notifications reach you in-app, by email, push, or SMS — and set up a phone number for texts.
Control what Ithas Fire tells you about — and on which channels — from the Notifications section of /account/settings.
Categories and channels
Notifications are grouped into four categories, each with its own switch per channel (In-app, Email, Push, SMS):
| Category | What's in it |
|---|---|
| Order confirmations & receipts | Purchase confirmations, e-tickets, refund notices, and payout updates |
| Event announcements | Line-up changes, schedule updates, and important event news from organisers |
| Promotions & recommendations | Early-bird deals, personalised picks, and featured events near you |
| Organizer updates | News and updates from organisers you follow |
Each switch saves as soon as you flip it. In-app and email start switched on; SMS always starts switched off — texts are strictly opt-in.
Order confirmations & receipts are always on in-app
The in-app switch for Order confirmations & receipts is locked on ("Always on — required for purchases"). These are the messages that deliver your tickets, receipts, and refund notices — the in-app copy is always delivered, so there's always a record at /account/notifications even if an email goes astray. This category also covers the address reveal for hidden-location events.
Setting up SMS
SMS switches stay disabled until a verified phone number is on file. If you haven't added one, the Notifications section shows "Add a phone number to receive SMS updates" with an ADD PHONE NUMBER button that takes you to the phone section of the same settings page.
To verify a number:
- Enter your phone number, including the country code.
- Click SEND CODE — Ithas Fire texts you a 6-digit code. Sending the code is also where you consent to receive SMS from Ithas Fire.
- Enter the code to confirm the number is yours.
Once verified, the SMS switches unlock immediately and you can opt in per category. A verified number can also receive two-factor authentication codes by SMS if your authenticator is unavailable.
Replying STOP also records the opt-out on your Ithas Fire account, so every SMS to that number stops — including volunteer shift reminders — even if a toggle here still shows on. Replying START (or re-enabling an SMS switch on this page) turns notification texts back on, but it does not re-subscribe volunteer reminders: opt back into those from the volunteer settings of the specific event.
Notification history
Every in-app notification you've received lives at /account/notifications — the History button at the bottom of the Notifications section takes you there.
What can go wrong
- A toggle won't save — you'll see a "Couldn't save preferences" message and the switch rolls back. Try again in a moment.
- SMS switches are greyed out — you don't have a verified phone number yet. Add and verify one first.
- You expected a text but didn't get one — check that the SMS switch for that category is on, and that you haven't replied STOP from that number.
